Open Online Theatre (OOT) is IJAD’s monetised, interactive live streaming platform, and digital playground. It is a virtual rehearsal and performance space that allows artists to connect and co-create with remote communities, and develop and share work designed for hybrid performance.
Our creation, Open Online Theatre provides the space to create a parallel life between the digital and the physical, while supporting artists to monetise their online performances.
Open Online Theatre is IJAD’s home for hybrid performance: a virtual venue developing and showcasing new work at the intersections of performing arts and technology. We train artists to deconstruct and rethink their practice to make work specifically for live-streaming, via the art of Sensography, created by IJAD director Joumana Mourad.
OOT artists can monetise their process and performances, to support gaining sustainable careers. Audiences can experience creative opportunities via online co-creation with artists, creating a community of artists and audiences, evolving and sustaining the performing arts ecosystem.
