Bespoke Education Workshops

Inspiring young people to take ownership of their health and wellbeing, while exploring what it means to future-proof our bodies.

The Daisy Chain VR Workshops

The Daisy Chain celebrates the vital links we create with each other, our histories, and the special people we’ve known. Through our Virtual Reality workshops you can

bring your stories to life by recreating them in immersive realities!

This is a great opportunity to explore, play and learn, where you’ll join IJAD Dance Company members for a VR co-creation workshop.

Workshops will include the use of  VR headsets which include a specially designed toolkit. This will enable participants to respond to creative prompts via imaginative movement, and virtual writing and drawing. Participants will have access to virtual brushes, pencils, textures and colours, images and drawings. Those less comfortable with VR can respond using the technology of paper and pen!

Creative prompts will be on the following themes:

  • memory
  • positive experiences
  • imagination
  • personal untold stories

The type of prompt will be adapted for the participant group, in order to offer a sense of connection, or agency, or whatever seems most apt. This can be discussed with course leaders/facilitators.

The workshops, for a minimum of 12 participants, are being offered to schools, youth clubs, hospitals, dance organisations, seniors and intergenerational community groups, and indoor festivals.

Through these workshops, IJAD aims to upskill and increase tech literacy, with an emphasis on those who may have less knowledge of current and new technologies, and also to offer creative opportunities to people with access challenges.

Creative work produced in these sessions will, subject to the participant’s permission, be taken forward into Stage 2 of the project to be included in a professional performance.

There will be the necessary protocols in place regarding privacy of information shared by participants.
